He won the National Film Award for his performance in the 1976 film Shesha Shrabana and the Orissa State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the 1987 film Bhulihuena. Additionally, he received multiple Best Villain awards, the Orissa Sangeet Nataka Akademi Award, and the highest cinematic honor of the state, the Jayadeva Purashkar, in 1994 for his outstanding lifetime contribution to the growth and development of Odia cinema.
